I started school a month ago, and I meant to post this before the start of the semester. I read thirteen books this summer, but eight of those are from box sets. So, if people ask (they never do), I’ll tell them I read thirteen books, but this list will only comprise of seven items
- The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien
I have tried to read The Lord of the Rings many times before this summer. I got through them for the first time because of my box set. The series was split into six parts instead of three, and I get through tasks faster when I split them into smaller pieces. Each book was no more than 200 pages, so they all seemed manageable when I picked them up.
2. Neil Gaiman Box Set by Neil Gaiman
This box set had three of Neil Gaiman’s children’s books. I loved the covers on all three of these. I did not read Fortunately, the Milk… this summer, but I did read it a few years ago, and it’s the funniest children’s book I have ever read. I did read the other two this summer: Coraline, which I read for the first time when I was eleven, and The Graveyard Book. All three books were awesome.
I will not go into a lot of detail about these last books, I have either already posted a review, or I am planning to post a review…eventually.
3. The Son by Philipp Meyer
Told in four points of view from a family in Texas. They’re kind of dicks, honestly. I might not actually post a review on this one.
4. We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
This book fucked me up, and I will be posting a review…eventually.
5. Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum
You can see my review here:

6. Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
You can see my review here: https://litbitchbooks.com/2017/07/01/finding-audrey/
7. You Are Here by Jennifer E. Smith
I don’t know if I’m going to do a review of this one. It wasn’t a bad book, but I don’t have anything I desperately want to say about it.
I have no idea if I’ll be able to finish many books this semester. Hopefully, I’ll be able to post another list over the holidays, even if it includes books I was required to read for class.
I really loved We Were Liars! Didn’t see that twist coming at all! x
